A year ago today… Do you remember what you were doing? Do you remember where you were? How you felt? What you were grateful for? What you were hoping for?
Every year has it’s own vibe – the lessons we learned, challenges we faced and sometimes unexpected windfalls or surprises. The big ones are easy to remember. But it’s just as easy to forget how far we’ve come, or some of the small moments that have changed our lives.
This time of year there is a trend on social media: #bestnine or #topnine . There are apps to find your most “popular” posts, but it can be more fun to go through and see which pics and posts jump out at you. What were the most memorable moments of 2018? Which ones were milestones? What changed your life, big or small?
We all carry our memories with us now; try scrolling through the photos on your phone. What did 2018 feel like to you? Is that reflected in your photos? What would you like to expand on and what would you like to change in the year ahead?
And there it is, right there; your new years resolution; your call to action.
I decided to jump on the #topnine bandwagon… mostly just because it’s kind of cool and kind of fun! The photos below shows the moments, that for whatever reason meant something to me in the last 12 months. 2018 was not the easiest year, but it was a year of growth and change and so many smiles. I grew into myself more, got closer to the things that are really important to me and found myself (begrudgingly) releasing many things that were no longer serving my highest good.
Choosing your top nine gives you a unique perspective on exactly what is possible in one year; life can change so much and there really are endless possibilities in the year ahead, so why not embrace them?!
I would really love to see your #topnine! Send them in an email and please let me know whether or not it is okay to share them in a subsequent blog post. But most of all, take a couple of minutes to reflect and make a fully awake and conscious decision of how you’ve like to live in 2019.
Adiós, 2018. Thank you for everything. And 2019… welcome to the party!!
