[FREE DOWNLOAD] I often talk about my “Daily Planner” or “Time Sheet” in my blog posts, with clients, and when I’m teaching – this is truly my secret weapon! Using this simple tool to plan my day the night before increases my productivity by about 70% .
If you find yourself overwhelmed, exhausted and still not getting the important stuff done, you may be wasting a lot of time during the day. Here are a couple of ways of using this super effective tool:
1. For 3-5 days keep track of EVERYTHING you are doing – working, sleeping, answering emails, showering, hanging with friends, running errands… you get the idea. This is going to show you EXACTLY where your time is going, and then you can decide what you want to do more of, and what you want to do less of.
2. Plan your day the night before. This is HUGE! You wake up clear and focused knowing exactly what to dive into first. Planning your day the night before also allows your subconscious to get to work on things and figure out the best way to get them done. Most people I give this exercise to tell me they sleep better as well, not lying away stressing about tomorrow’s activities.
One of the big bonuses of using this, is that you suddenly gain a lot more clarity on how much time to allocate to each task, and if you’re being realistic in your expectations. When I first started doing this, I was scheduling in about 30 or so hours every day…. hmmmm…. no wonder I was exhausted but felt like I was spinning my wheels!)
